Sota el nom de TOST hi ha el darrer projecte en solitari d'Arnau Obiols.
És una visió personal i contemporània dels sons i de la música tradicional del Pirineu català, una música filla dels boscos, dels arbres, dels moixons i de tot allò que ha arrelat i ressonat en aquestes muntanyes.

Tost és un riu, una vall i un poble deshabitat de l'Alt Urgell. D’aquesta vall era fill el seu mateix padrí, pastor i tractant de bestiar, a qui els seus companys d’ofici van motejar amb el sobrenom de Tost, atès el seu origen geogràfic.

TOST és un cant contemporani a la muntanya, un homenatge a la terra, a allò més proper, al que és de tots i no és de ningú –el que ens és comú-, com ara la Natura i aquestes cançons, o allò immaterial i efímer, com els sons i els dies que vivim.

Arnau Obiols ens convida a participar d'aquest ritu sonor íntim, un art primitiu i nou alhora.

Tost is Arnau Obiols latest solo project. It is a personal and contemporary approach to the sounds and traditional music from the Catalan Pyrenees. A song daughter of the forest, the trees, the birds and everything that has rooted and echoed in these mountains.

Tost is also a river, a valley and an uninhabited village in Alt Urgell. His grandfather, a shepherd and livestock dealer, was from that valley. His workmates nicknamed him Tost because of his origin.

Tost is a contemporary chant, a homage to the land, to the closest things, to what is common to everybody but from no-one in particular. Like Nature and these songs, or that what is immaterial and ephemeral like sounds or days of our lives.

Arnau Obiols invites us now to join this intimal sound rite. A primitive while modern art.
